A Brooklands seen in France. What's yer man holding in his hand and why?

David Stephenson said The Brooklands is from a chap near Nantes NW France who puts them on 2CV chassis. They are built by a few trainees on mechanic sort of courses and they are quite expensive, look different to english ones - more batmobile/morgan aero. He is holding what could be a sound machine for exhaust noise.
