From France—Trois Cylindre a un moteur
Down Memory Lane.. by Baroness Von Battenburg
Hi Ian—maybe you can squeeze these pictures in the next edition. I found them on a Japanese site. There was also another shot of the 3 cylinder BMW that was in P.A.G. a couple of issues back.
The top two appear to be Moto Guzzi experimental engines.
I like the engines David, but what a waste sat in a museum, they should be stuck in the front of a Pembleton burning up plenty of fossil fuel—Albert
Listen guys...Despite what you may read elsewhere in this edition of P.A.G. I did not ...and I repeat I DID NOT have any part in the decision made by Crackleport to sell No2. For me it was a day of mixed emotions when new owner Andy Cushing came to collect the Hopper. Sad of course to think that I wouldn't sit in the co-pilots seat again, wearing my well weathered ‘pink pembly cap’ (or if the weather turned bad my German Tank Helmet with felt rabbit shapes attached)…..... Now there’s a tale……...We had been out for a drive in wet weather through the Yorkshire Dales. Albert in his waterproofs…..mucky old Belstaff Trials Jacket and oily flat cap..… me in my motorcycle oversuit and afore mentioned Tank Helmet which cost the princely sum of £3 from the ex-army stores in Otley. Anyway we were cutting through the top of Ilkley just before the moors and saw that Betties Tea Rooms were still open. Heard of Betties ????? Expensive ????? 4 quid for a cucumber sandwich !!!!! 2 slices of Warburtons finest (with the crust cut off of course !!!!!) Hey lets get a posh bun for when we get home…..says Crackleport. Well, .posh.. Yes.. the buns are posh or should I say patisseries. So in I go in my full Pembly weather gear….
Well the snotty cow behind the counter looked me up and down slowly and in a ‘To the Manor Born’ accent said “Ooooh !!..Can I help yoooooooo. !”
Yeh ya can..I’ll have 2 Yorkshire rascals and mek sure cherries on’t top r big un’s… Cheeky Bitch who did she think she was….Don’t mess wi me lady….even if you ‘ave got a frilly apron n’ paper ‘at.
Course I’m happy too…..I’m happy for Andy and his new purchase....Hope he enjoys No2 as much as we have….
Till next time Ta Ta Guys. Baroness Von Battenburg
