Crackleport, I will transport the car to the paint shop on Monday. They will do it in two weeks time so I hope to be able to work with the car during my off time in Christmas. We got some snow here yesterday but I hope it will melt as I will have to use a big trailer for the car and I dont think it is on the illegal side for me to tow it after my car but anyhow I will try to get it done.... Slippery roads wont help me either... I have drilled everey hole I can think of to get it done before painting. I will use a aircraft style cockpit coamning wiht tiny brass eyelets and a lether string to secure the padded coaming. I think it will look great and satisfy the inspectors too. It was a lot of drilling to get it right thoug.. I enclose my part 5 for you to use and you can change any bad english as you like. Best Regards Bertil I am on schedule… the project has now reached the point where I have dismantled all loose bits and parts and on Monday 21 November I will transport the car to the paint shop. I had the owner of the paint shop and a representative from the paint manufacturer (BASF) on visit a few weeks ago and they liked the car so we have made an agreement between us. They will sponsor the paint job and I will let them use the car in their ads and on shows. I am happy about this as it will give me a good professional paint job done.. I have done quite a lot of detailing job since last newsletter and it includes things like.. Leather cockpit coaming made from pipe insulation and a piece of black smooth leather. Armrests from walnut also test fitted. Note side repeater. I have also done a lot of job on the electrics and I can say that this is not really what I am best at. I did get some good help from my daughters husband when they came home to visit us during summer. I have electronic ignition, the lumenition unit, and Ecas super coil fitted. Per-Åke is good at electrics and really gave me good help and advice! I have fitted DellOrto carbs and fitting them is really a tight thing.. I could not get the filters to clear the chassis so I had to make a extension for them.
