This is one for the conspiracy theorists (moi) you see, Hitler had long planned for his ‘peoples car’ to dominate the world market, but his formula was correct only in two of the important areas.
Air Cooling
Horizontally opposed.
So far so good. However, from then on it all stated to fall apart. E.g. twice the number of cylinders required. Engine at the wrong end and so on. Whatever Dr. Porche was on, I don’t want any!
In the late 30’s Hilter’s SS obtained all the details of Andres’ sublime design. When this info reached Herr Doctor the ice cream really seriously hit the fan, why? Because his design had been signed off. Full payment to him was imminent and tooling completed. With the armaments program in full swing, there was no turning back now.
Ferdenand’s report to Der Furer convinced him that this threat to his dream must be crushed, now, if not sooner! The only way out was a pre-emptive strike against France before the 2CV hit the market. But how could this be possible? How could the good people of Germany ever be convinced to make war against the French? After all they are the same as us. Simply wanting to pursue their careers, marry, raise a family and have a great time along the way, while drinking a few pints. Make war? Why? Just not in their reality, like everyone else, yes? Yes. This was Hitler’s problem. How to create the desire for war.
Fast forward to 1946. Hitler is safe in South America. The war is over and the Nuremburg Trials are in full swing. Herman Goering, Hitler’s Reich Marshall is on the stand. The following is a transcript. “Her Goering, how was it made possible for the free, Christian, peace loving people of Germany to want to attack France?
Watch closely now. Here it comes. The key!
“Naturally, the common people don’t want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a parliament or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in very country”.
Get it? EVERY COUNTRY! You don’t believe it? Simply look back at history. Everyone has heard that Nero fiddled while Rome burned, (just as Bush read a story to a Primary School class as the towers burned)/ So why did Rome burn? Because Nero was having great difficulty recruiting troops for his far flung campaigns around the world.
They had become unpopular as they had been conducted for so long so far from home. Young men did not want to enlist, so many cut of fingers to make them ineligible.
So what to do? Remember the Reich Marshalls words? “…..all you have to do is tell them they are being attached…” Nero simply set fire to Rome and blamed it on an attack from whatever country was next on his hit list. Works every time.
Not convinced? Let’s take a more contemporary line, WWI. Did the citizens of the corporation called the USA want to be involved in WWI? No way Jose! This was clearly Europe’s problem. So how was Woodrow Wilson the President, able to change the good people’s minds. Easy! Remember Hermans words “.. all you have to do is…” Bingo! President Wilson arranges for the Lucitania, carrying several hundred US citizens, to be torpedoed by a U boat. How jolly convenient! Not quite as many killed as 911, but with the same result.
Perhaps you remain unconvinced? Well then, let’s look at WWII. Once again we have the people owned by the USA corporation, definitely, this time, emphatically saying no to helping out the UK in it’s defense against the axis armies. However, the US military industrial complex was desperate to cash in to the maximum with war production, so after certain large ‘donations’ were made to FD Roosevelt’s forthcoming election campaign, the good FDR arranged for the US military Intelligence (an oxymoron if ever there was one) to look the other way as the Japanese aircraft carrier approached Pearl Harbour. “…All you have to do is…” Sort of has a familiar ring to it, yes? Unconvinced? Well then let’s look at what a prominent Marine General said in 1933. Marine General Smedley D Butler. “War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people…It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.”
Even President Eisenhower said in his farewell speech “Beware of the growing power of the Military Industrial Complex’s ability to control the policy.”
