Hello to all !! - Greetings from the Garden State ! New Jersey, U.S.A Being a Pembleton myself it would be GREAT to own one of these fine automobiles. Does anyone know if there are any built in the United States or if I could get parts to build one myself here ? Also are there any rallies or shows in the U.K. within the next year ? Would give me a GREAT excuse to come and check out the home land of my ancestors ! Take care and thanks for any input - Chris Pembleton
I contacted Chris on his email address and told him about how the car got its name. (By using aluminium sheets pulled from a Pemberton caravan to skin Old No 1. Pemberton became Pembleton and the rest is history) He seemed impressed that the name was born out of 'Frugality' 'Some of us Pembletons are Frugal indeed !'
Chris tells me that the Pembleton name in America goes back to the second ship after the Mayflower (according to legend) with one of Chris's great grandfathers being granted land from the King of Ohio and marrying an Indian princess. He did this on the advice of the Indian Chief who liked him and thought his daughter would provide protection and help him keep his scalp.
Chris would like to make contact with other Pembleton owners and hear about their Pembling so give him a call - Ed

A Cautionary Tale - Be warned the following could happen to you ! Over last winter Henry Bawler left his old leather motoring coat in the back of the 'Grasshopper'. Rather a surprise for Henry then to find that one pocket was inhabited by a mouse when spring motoring beckoned. It won't happen again Henry assured us all at the Stoneleigh kit car show as he proudly displayed the mouse trap presented to him by Dave Millar. You can see from the photo that Henry is well pleased with the added protection.
Brians Carb and Oil Filler mods - No 19 really is taking shape now with only the front panels to add. You will notice from the pictures that Brian Carmichael has chosen to fit the standard 2CV carburettor. This has fit perfectly behind the coil using part of the original manifold and connecting to the Pembleton manifolds with flexi hose. The oil filler has been positioned nearer the engine as Brian didn't like the long pipe run which results if fitted as recommended. The repositioned oil filler has also left a perfect spot to fix the washer bottle.
